...and I have booked the flights to and from Finland.
15 Sept - Perth to Singapore to Helsinki, same flights as last time (out of Perth at 11:50ish, into Helsinki the following (relative) morning at 6:50).
I've booked a room at the Omena from the day before so I will have somewhere to dump the luggage and have a shower when I arrive. Checking in at this chain can't occur until 16:00 and it makes for a loooong day when you get in so early. I know, this happened to me when I overnight ferried it from Stockhom to Turku.
Three days in Helsinki, visiting the g-f coffee shop in the Kauppahalli (I've been ordered to have a cup of coffee for L and R. Oh, the hardship!), and then, probably, training it from Hel to Rovaniemi, home of Santa Claus. It's an overnight train (gods! but I love overnight trains and ferries!), leaving at 17:00ish and getting in at 7:13. There is a train from Rovaniemi to Kemijärvi, which is about as far north as the trains go, that I think I'll take for a day trip. It leaves at 7:35, bit early, and comes back at 19:35, bit late. The early part is fine; I'm just not sure what I'll do for a whole day in Kemijärvi. There is, however, a bus run by the amusingly-named Mollari Bus Company.
