Got to Jyvaskyla station early, looked at the departure board and it had this - IC 142 to Pieksama 10.39 ~11.16. I asked some ladies what it meant and they didn't know either.
It being a Sunday, the VR box office was closed. We did start getting regular updates, however. Seems a train had broken down somewhere.
The 10.39 eventually left at 11.25; as my connection to Joensuu left at 11.42, this was a problem. I checked the Pieksama station page and the next train to Joensuu departs at 19.39, getting in at 21.50, long after the reception desk in my hotel closes.
Just before we reached Pieksama, the conductor lady asked me where I was going and said that there would be buses to take us to our destinations and there were and here I am, only an hour and a bit late.
I was going to get a bus to the hotel but there were taxis waiting so I thought, sod it.
