This blog is dedicated to travel - what I've done, what I plan to do and what other people have done that I want to do. The next big trip, hopefully, will be Sept/Oct next year to Finland and Estonia with a side trip to England.
I've never been further north in Finland than Tampere and that's not north at all. This time, I want to head into Lapland and see the Sami people. I've been to Norwegian and Swedish Lapland andnow I want to see what's in Finland above the Arctic Circle.
Estonia looks fascinating, shares/shared a common language with Suomi, and is only a couple of hours' boat ride from Helsinki.
And the side trip to England involves avoiding Heathrow altogether, flying into Manchester and catching the train to York.
