The overnight train from Helsinki was about 15 minutes late getting in Rovaniemi and there were quite a few people on board. My sleeper was compact but cosy and the en suite was a hoot - you had to unlatch the wall the basin was in and swing it towards the toilet to get to the shower, which was surprisingly roomy. And the water was hot, though you did have to turn it on with a button every few minutes.

I went looking for the Hertz shop but didn't find it - I went back to the station to ask someone where they were and spotted a young chap in a Hertz uniform.

I have a black VW Golf automatic. It has a satnav but I can't get it to talk to me. Which is why I got lost on the way here, driving on the wrong, for me side of the road, watching out for other cars, while trying to read the satnav. What should have been a six minute journey took about 20. Still, I got here in one piece, did 100 on the motorway and overtook a slow moving crane. More on my shopping adventures, where I had cause to make an elderly gent wonder if I was drunk, later.
